About the Event
September 17, 2024 @ 5:00 p.m. EST - The Folklore of the North East: Scotland
Scotland is a place of great myth and superstitions, some of which is very unique to the
Northeast Coast. Join The Crathes Castle Estate Manager, Doug Kyle, for a talk around
the Folklore of the Country and Aberdeenshire, from Haggis to Highland Games, from
Tattiebogles to Witch’s Covens.
Douglas Kyle is born and bred in Scotland’s West Coast. Having worked several jobs from retail
to security, Douglas is now the Estate Manager at Crathes Castle looking after the Estate and
the buildings. In his spare time, he’s an amateur film maker (with his own community based film
company) and part time fire fighter. Passionate about history, community, nature, and folklore,
he spends the majority of his time spreading this passion, wild swimming or climbing mountains
with his Cocker Spaniel Dwight.
